This week I got to work on the feature I planned out in the week before. It was good fun to finally start to work on the thing I’ve helped to design and plan out. Doing this required me to talk with the designers and animators in the company to make sure that what I made was up to their expectations.
I now realize that it’s very important to ask for the right type of feedback, so don’t just say: “Hey what are your thoughts on this” but make it more specific like: “Hey what do you need from the feature so that it works for you when you need to use it”. This helps with gathering info that I need in order to continue improving it to it’s goal.
So the feature is basically an intro into the scene where you see the cool objectives of the level and you get a short introductory animation of a character who explains a bit about what happens and encourages you to get all the objectives. It’s made with a combination of Cinemachine and Timeline in Unity. This needs to be made for every level so it’s my job to create a prefab and a couple of scripts that work for all levels and is easily adjustable for the level designers.
I don’t think I’ve mentioned the fridays before. Friday is snackday ๐ , it’s when a couple of coworkers and I get together during the break and go to the local snackcorner to get some fries and stuff. It’s good fun and a nice distraction from work! Also there’s a beer around 5pm so that’s a nice start to the weekend.
Here is a game made by Triangle Studios that’s coming out soon:
